  • We will start our journey with a visit to the Golden Pavilion. Its reflection in the calm water of the lake creates a truly fascinating picture — it is difficult to determine where the reality is and where the reflection is. There is an observation deck nearby where you can take photos.

  • Then we will go to Ryoan-ji Temple, famous for its unique stone garden, created by Zen Buddhist master Soami in the 15th century, as a place for meditation.

  • Then we will visit the temple of "Pure Water", where pilgrims have been climbing for centuries to pray to the eleven-faced goddess Cannon and drink water from the sacred spring.

  • We will continue our walk through the ancient streets of Kyoto, where we will find shops with souvenirs and traditional Japanese sweets. We will also walk through the Gion quarter, where you can see geisha and Maiko-keepers of Japanese traditions.

  • The second day will start with the Sagano Bamboo Grove in Arashiyama. It consists of narrow alleys surrounded by tall bamboo thickets. Bamboo stalks rise to a considerable height and create a melodious sound that resembles a gentle chime.

  • The next stop is Nijo Castle, a historical monument from the Edo period (1603-1867). The castle demonstrates the power of the shoguns who ruled the country at that time, and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Inside the castle there are "nightingale" floors that make a sound resembling a bird's chirp. This security system was previously used to warn about uninvited guests.

  • We will visit the Nishiki Market, which offers a variety of products from groceries to souvenirs. The market is covered with a glass roof, which allows you to walk even in bad weather. Here you can not only buy groceries, but also try traditional Kyoto cuisine.

  • Visit the Sanjusangen-do Shrine, famous for its 1,001 statues of Cannon, the goddess of mercy. The name of the temple translates as "A hall thirty-three flights long". In the center of the hall is the Cannon, and on either side of it are 500 smaller statues.

  • The final stop will be the Fushimi-Inari-taisha Shrine — the main shrine dedicated to the goddess Inari, the patroness of harvest and success. Its signature feature is the impressive corridor of thousands of bright orange torii gates climbing Mount Inari. Fushimi-Inari-taisha is not just a temple, but a "big temple" (taisha), which has a special status due to its location and the patronage of the imperial court in the past.

  • We will visit the Katsuo-ji Temple, known as the Temple of Victory and Good Luck. There are thousands of Daruma dolls on its territory. By tradition, a visitor to the temple gets a doll that initially has no eyes. Then it makes a goal or intent and paints over the right eye. When the intention is fulfilled, it is necessary to paint over the second eye and return the doll to the temple.

  • Then we will walk through the park area of Osaka Castle, which played a key role in the Japanese history of the late XVI-early XVII centuries. The castle was built in 1585-1598 by general Toyotomi Hideyoshi and is now a symbol of Osaka.

  • The one-square-kilometer castle is located on a stone embankment designed to protect against attacks. At the base are massive boulders, some of which reach six meters in height and fourteen meters in width. The castle consists of five floors above the ground and three underground levels that go deep into the embankment.

  • Finish the tour in Minami district, the busiest part of Osaka. Here we will pass through the cozy streets with numerous shops, bars and restaurants located along the Dotombori Canal.

  • Let's start with a visit to the Todaiji Temple, known as the "Great Eastern Temple". It is one of the most famous and influential in the country. Todaiji was built in 752 as the main temple for all provincial Buddhist temples in Japan.

  • It is home to the world's largest bronze statue of Buddha, as well as the world's largest wooden temple structure. Guests are particularly interested in the pillar, at the base of which there is a hole the size of a Buddha's nostril. There is a belief that anyone who can pass through this hole will find happiness and good luck in their endeavors.

  • We will take a walk through Nara National Park, which is home to about 1,200 tame deer, considered the embodiment of Shinto deities. Deer can be fed directly from their hands with special cookies, and they know how to bow to people in response.

  • The next stop will be the Kasuga-taisha Shinto Shrine, known for its vibrant colors and scenic views. The contrast of bright cinnabar, white walls and cypress roofs attracts many photographers.

  • In the end, we will try traditional Japanese sweets-mochi, in one of the local shops. Here, a quick mochi production chore is held every day, during which hundreds of pieces are made, fresh and warm after being beaten.

  • Mount Koya (Koya-san) is located in Wakayama Prefecture, south of Osaka. It is a sacred site that is home to numerous temples and monasteries of the Shingon Buddhist school. The first temple was founded in 819. It is located at an altitude of 800 meters among eight mountain peaks and has since become a center of pilgrimage.

  • Now there are about a hundred monasteries on Mount Koya, offering overnight accommodation for pilgrims. From Koya-san, the ancient Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trail leads to the Kumano Shinto shrines.

  • On Mount Koya is Okunoin-one of the largest cemeteries in Japan, hidden in a dense forest. There are more than 200,000 graves here. You can see ancient tombstones covered with moss, and rarely seen on the trails of Buddhist monks. At night, the cemetery is filled with a mystical atmosphere. When the silence becomes particularly noticeable, the monks are ready to share secret knowledge and fascinating stories about the place. We will definitely talk to them.

  • Let's start with a visit to Himeji Castle — the most beautiful in Japan. Having survived earthquakes, wars and fires, it has preserved its original appearance and is the best example of medieval Japanese architecture. It is often called the "Castle of the Egret" for its resemblance to a bird ready to soar into the sky. The complex of 83 wooden buildings covered with unique white plaster is a striking example of a combination of military construction, residential premises and exquisite beauty. This emphasizes harmony between man and nature as the best way to live.

  • Himeji Kokoen Garden was opened in 1992 to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of the founding of Himeji Municipality. It consists of nine separate gardens and is located on the site of the eastern residence of the lord and samurai, which existed during the feudal era.

  • We will also see Mount Sesa, known for its beautiful scenery and lack of modern buildings. On it stands the Engyoji Shrine, often used as a filming location for historical films and television series. Among them is the Hollywood movie "The Last Samurai".

* Photo and video shooting is allowed.
* We are planning a tea ceremony with a geisha together with a tour of Kyoto.
* The cost of the ceremony (excluding the cost of the excursion day) starts from $ 800 and above.
  • Now there are less than 1,000 geishas left in Japan. The complexity of this profession makes it extremely unique and rare. So I offer you a unique opportunity to visit the teahouse where geisha and their maiko students live. The geisha will treat us to tea, dance a traditional dance, answer any questions and take photos with everyone.
